Graduated from the University of Southern California (1988) Degree in Real Estate Finance.
Director of Leasing (1988-1991) for one of the top developers in Los Angeles and San Diego. Supervised 20 agents and 250 properties.
Acquired first dry cleaners in 1992. From 1992 to 1996 acquired an additional 6 stores in the Riverside CA trade area.
Acquired or opened an additional 29 stores from 1997 to 2006 in three different trade areas (Southern CA, Las Vegas and San Diego).
In 2007 merged with U.S. Dry Cleaners and became the first public company consolidator of the dry-cleaning industry. Became the Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for the company and acquired and additional $21MM in revenues (50 stores) for the company and assisted in the operations of the largest owner operator of dry cleaners in the U.S (2007 to 2012).
Acquired (2013-Current) Polo Cleaners in San Juan Capistrano and then later acquired Beasley’s Cleaners in Rancho Santa Margarita and rebranded it to Polo Cleaners. Focused on quality, customer service, and home delivery.
In addition to Polo Cleaners, Riaz acquired Rix Business Sales from Robin Rix in 2016. Changed name to Dry Cleaning Business Brokerage (owned by Riaz and Boston Chauthani) and focused on business brokerage exclusively for the dry-cleaning industry (nationally). We have completed over 80 transactions in 9 years with over $60,000,000 in overall transactional revenues.
